In addition to my previous post, I've had plans to enhance my summer experience, as it will likely be my last "free" summer at least for the next four years.
The first such plan I intend to implement in the next coming months would be to listen to more music in my 2017 playlist on Spotify. Recently, I've gotten into what I consider as "retro" music, which consists of the classics: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkel, Guns n Roses, and more.
Even though I've taken a liking to the music mentioned above, I also want to stay up to date with the music popular today. That is why in this summer, I want to listen to Kendrick Lamar's new album and listen to more alternative music, which is my preferred music genre to listen.
Along with listening to more music this summer, I also want to go overseas this summer and visit new places that I have never been to before. This will be a transformative experience for me, because I have time, energy, and am free to explore famous and/or aesthetically beautiful areas without the burden of school. Hopefully I can go with my family to Iceland, because that island is just beautiful. Or, if I got the opportunity to go to cool countries like Singapore or Australia, I would totally be down for that too.
Every summer, that is the time where I can add to or cross off what I consider is in my bucket list. I have always wanted to go to a concert or multiple concerts for an extend period of time, such as Firefly. Since I am going to Firefly this summer, I am very grateful and so excited! As for things I want to my bucket list, I want to go visit historically relevant sites in the world, such as ancient temples, bazaars, or ruins. These include the centuries old (or in some cases thousands of years old) temples in the Southern India, the Indus Valley Civilization (the oldest civilization in the world) in modern day Pakistan, the Ganges River (considered the holiest river in India), and famous mosques in India.
Additionally, I have always wanted to get back into shape by running more, which is always a positive in the summer because I have more time in my hands and more energy to do activities without work lingering in the back of my mind. While I could run, I also want to delve into photography, since I have gotten into a liking into getting stellar photos in naturally beautiful places. Who knows? Maybe I can take photos when I do finish my bucket list at some point in my life.
Lastly, the most exciting thing about this summer is the fact that I can get ready for my adjustment to college this fall in Drexel University. I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to go to this university, so getting the things ready for next fall will be by far the most cool thing ever.
Sounds like a great summer, and Drexel is nestled in such a great spot of Philadelphia! You should get into some local races up there (when you're not cramming of course!)
