The Political Process

Regardless of who you support for this upcoming Presidential election, we can all agree on one thing: it was a rollercoaster ride. The only way I can accurately explain this election in an easy way is to not explain it bluntly to you but to show it to you with one of the most powerful tools that was ever invented in the internet: the memes.

Sports

Cross Country is a hard sport. It involves both the physical and mental strength and will power of athletes to perform at their best. However, in the pursuit of racing to your goals, there are a lot of obstacles in the way. If you are an active athlete (not just in Cross Country), hopefully this post will motivate you to work harder than before.

Let's begin.

My Love for Star Wars

I'm just putting this out there. I love Star Wars. Becoming immersed in another galaxy far far away adds to the flavor and wonder about George Lucas's story. The plot, the dialogue, the characters, the action sequences, and the hero's journey of Luke and Anakin Skywalker are genius. These are a list of memes that briefly explain interesting observations I found when watching each episode.

Airplane Trips

Plane trips are always a bit difficult to describe because they can be fun and exciting, but later on, it can be tiring and very uncomfortable. Especially during a continuous airplane trip, it is natural to feel conflicted because there is always the thought that the flight is unbearable after a while. In the beginning of the flight, you feel optimistic and excited because it is the afternoon and by the end of the night, you will arrive at another hemisphere in the globe. You also feel you are on the largest flight as well because some plane trips are continuous for many hours.

The Pre-Flight:

The first couple hours of the flight is fine because of the excitement that you are at a height of 35,000+ feet up in the air, and you realize that this plane is now crossing the Atlantic Ocean, which is very cool.

The First Couple Hours of the Flight:

Don't count on that emotion for the later portion of the trip. That feeling won't last. Because this is where the real flight comes in.

The Middle Portion of the Flight:

After you experience that for the majority of the trip, you can start to cope with the conditions with ENDLESS movies in order to distract yourself. Once you landed, you feel like this.

Sleep is for the Weak.......or is it?

Post 3:

On school days, it seems that sleep is a luxury most times. Homework, classwork, projects, and quizzes and tests make up a significant portion of my time after school along with extracurricular activities such as clubs, music, and fun programs. Because of all these various considerations, it is quite difficult to have the average 8 hours needed for a good night's rest. Heck, I would be lucky if I had 6 hours to be honest. However, if I took a power nap after school or slept earlier, necessary time normally given to school work would be lost, and therefore, there would be no work done, unecessary stress would increase, and my class grades would be compromised, which is not an option. Because of these reasons, I normally say to myself that sleep is for the weak.

But is it?

The very thought of sleeping is, by itself, a very appealing proposition. It relieves stress, makes myself recover from a long day's school day, and eases my anxiety for future classes. Throughout my high school experience, almost every single day I have attempted finish my work before sleeping. I have tried and tried and tried to keep up with this example for the past 3 years. Unfortunately, Master Yoda's teaching still holds today. "Do or Do Not. There is no try." This is because I have chosen to wake up earlier and do homework. Even though sleeping takes away time from the work needed for classes, sleeping and waking up earlier to do work seems much better and more likely chance than finishing all work before sleeping. Another additional point that I have personally observed is that whenever I wake up, I am more active to finish my school work than I was in the night......Maybe sleep is the cure for all the time lost. Maybe I am wrong.

Starting Work

It's really difficult to start working on anything. It could be doing school homework, washing the laundry, or studying for upcoming exams. It really puts into perspective about a person's activation energy to will himself/herself to do what is in your mind. For me, it is hard to start partly due to my my uncertainties about the work involved. The only way that I can really focus and finish my work is having enough panic to pull me out of the trance and get to work.

And when I start, it is quite easy to finish work because I am in the zone and focused.

It is quite an ironic thing, because normally I say it takes a long time to finish an assignment, but in reality, I should probably say it took not as much time to finish work as it did to start it in the first place.

Post 1: The Twilight of Procrastination

As a guy who gets involved with numerous but exciting classes in school, I sure get the itch to procrastinate more and more with each passing year. It's ironic that the more work I have corresponds with the need to sleep or immerse myself in online media in order avoid pending deadlines. Somehow and someway, I manage to keep myself on track with the work I need to finish. Yet, the glorified practice that is procrastination can be seen as a long term cost than a temporary benefit. As a result, I must face the music and realize that procrastination has not helped.

But............

Even though procrastination can be detrimental, it is only a liability in a specific academic context. I always thought that procrastinating meant that you spend more time delaying or postponing the work that you really need to do. However, that is not always the case. Procrastination is really awesome when spending more time in the areas you are more interested in. For example, when I procrastinate, I play the piano, eat snacks, watch news, read articles, and just think about stuff without feeling stressed by school. By procrastinating, it really helped me to feel more relaxed and to better understand the schoolwork involved with a different perspective than before.

Realizing this, I have decided to call procrastination as "Creative Thinking Time."
